Healing in His Wings

It’s a Divine paradox that it hurts to be healed. As I shared in this month’s manna I had a mountain of pain in front of me. I didn’t want to deal with the mountain, I wanted to worship God and be over it. However, the reality was that I wasn’t over it, I was just ignoring it. The Lord didn’t want me casting the mountain in the sea, He wanted me to come face to face with Him and be healed.

“How priceless is Your unfailing love! Both high and low among men find refuge in the shadow of Your wings.” (Ps. 36:7 NIV)

Beloved, running to God reveals intimacy. It takes trusts to take off the mask and be real with our hurts and disappointments. However, this becomes easier as we trust Him as our strong tower, as the One to whom we can run into.

The Hebrew word used in the passage above for trust is chasah (pronounced CHaw-saw). It has the unique quality of being a shelter. Therefore, that trust/chasah God are literally sheltered under His wings.

“The Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings.” (Malachi 4:2) As Jesus Christ hung on the cross His arms were outstretched just because He loves us with an unfailing love. We can’t fail enough to cause Him to stop loving us. He loves us just as we are, we don’t need to get all fixed up before we run into His arms. We can trust Him with our heart, we don’t have to be afraid and hide our thoughts and emotions from Him.

We trust Yeshua/Jesus with our eternity…why not trust Him with what’s hurting our heart today? Why not trust Him with our disappointments, with where we feel let down, with where we are angry, hurt, and confused.

While the paradox remains, healing hurts, as we reveal it He will heal it while we are in the shelter of His wings.

Beloved, His arms are stretched out today as an invitation; “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” (Matt.11:28 NLT). Let’s run into those arms, Amen and Amen.
