Greatly Beloved

By: Tiffany Ann Lewis

“At the beginning of your supplications the command went out, and I have come to tell you, for you are greatly beloved; therefore consider the matter, and understand the vision:”   (Daniel 9:23)

When life has dealt you blow after blow, when the season is long and prayer has been constant yet there is no breakthrough, it’s easy to believe one of the greatest lies the enemy of our souls tells us all…God doesn’t hear you, He doesn’t care about you…He doesn’t love you.

I wonder if Daniel felt that same way too, after all, he spent nearly his entire life in bondage.  He was taken into bondage as a teenager and scholars tell us he was probably about 84 years old when this heavenly messenger visited him.

Three Chambers of God’s Love

Teaching by Tiffany Ann Lewis

A look at love through the Tabernacle of Moses

Since “God is love” (1John 4:8) and the Creator of the universe, it stands to reason that all expressions of love originate in Him.  When considering God’s love, the Greek word agape (pronounced a-gah-pay) is often discussed because it is a sacrificial love.  I see agape as the foundation of all love yet I don’t believe we are to stop there, I believe agape was intended to take us some place further.  If we “stop-ay at agape” (a little play on words) we will be missing the fullness of the relational qualities of love which God has designed.

In order to understand more fully this thing called love, let’s look at it symbolically through the Tabernacle of Moses.  Moses’ tabernacle is essentially one large rectangle with a smaller rectangle within it.  The smaller rectangle is separated into two parts thus creating three unique sections that are all contained within one building.  Heavy veils that act like our modern day doorway separate these sections.  The first section or chamber is called the outer court; the second, the inner court or holy place; and the third, the holy of holies or most holy place.  Thus we have three chambers in one

A New Year of Prayer

By: Tiffany Ann Lewis

Did you know that nearly 9 in 10 Americans believe in miracles yet only 48 percent of those surveyed believe that the miracles presented in the Bible should be taken as truth?  The study went on to say that it seems like people believe in miracles, but only more subtle ones dealing with attitudes and other psychological states, but not in large changes of matter.  Thus prayers for a friend to have hope or courage seem plausible, but prayers for a family member to re-grow a limb or be cured of a fatal illness seem pointless.

When asked how much of the outcome of medical or surgical treatment they believe is related to forces totally outside of human control, 55 percent of responders said either very little or none of the outcome should be attributed to non-human forces such as the supernatural or “acts of God.”

Do you believe in miracles?  I have to be honest and tell you that I haven’t always believed in them.  I was a believer that didn’t believe!!!  I wanted to, I fully understood the principal of believing before receiving.  Nevertheless, there was a disconnect between my head and my heart that I didn’t know how to change…but God did!  You see it is possible to believe God in areas A, B & C and not believe in areas D, E & F and God knows just what to do.  Let me explain.

Grinched

By: Tiffany Ann Lewis

Why is it that at the most wonderful time of the year with the kid’s jingle-belling and everyone telling you be of good cheer that millions of people are suffering with the holiday blues?  Is the Grinch really stealing Christmas?

The holidays can be a time full of joy, special memories, parties and family gatherings.  But for many, while decking their halls with red and green, deep inside they are blue.  The hap-happiest season of all becomes a time of loneliness, self-evaluation, regret, anxiety, and fear.  These feelings are fought by looking for love and comfort in all the wrong places like food, alcohol, over-spending or over-planning.  A happy face is pasted on while the soul suffers in silence looking forward to Jan 1st when it will all be over.

O’ God, save us now!!!
