Enjoy The Season

It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost three weeks since we brought Shiloh home!

As my husband, Rod and I watched him sleep this morning we had mixed feelings.  We are physically exhausted because of all the house training and general rules of human/canine contact (i.e. no…you can’t eat the carpet, furniture, shoes, our hands, our feet, and pee where ever you want.)  We long to be able to leave him alone for 10 minutes without him needing parental supervision.

Therefore, we are eager for him to grow up and become more independent so we can have some of our independence back.  It would be nice not to schedule when you can take a shower.  Yet on the other hand, as we look at this little fella we are reminded of the simple lesson we learned through our other dogs – enjoy life and stop and pet the puppy.

So, though we run after Shiloh non-stop, removing things from his mouth, and scooping him up with lightening speed before there’s an accident, we rejoice and enjoy in the season we are in.

P.S.  It’s been 3 days since Shiloh as had an accident – WHOO-HOO!
